A Line-by-Line, Verse-by-Verse Bible Study of the First Book of Peter -- NKJV
If you seriously desire to know more of Jesus, first pray to Him and ask Him to reveal Himself to you.
Then get into His Word with the help of this Bible Study as a guide.
Through the ordinary method of defining words and simplifying Biblical concepts you will walk, verse by verse, and line by line through Peter's letter and begin to grasp the real truths of Christianity and how to live the Christian life, as taught by one who actually walked with Jesus and knew Him intimately. Peter was one of the First Apostles.
This is a 20-lesson,
154-page,
8.5 x11 inch workbook page size (standard size for easy printing and putting into a 3-ring binder)
in-depth, line-by-line study of the book "First Peter" (verses included)
with synonyms and definitions spelled out for you (at the end of every lesson),
based on the New King James Version (NKJV) of the Bible.
Very Suitable for a Small Group Bible Study or for personal individual study, too.
The type is normal size so you will be getting exactly what you have paid for. I get really disappointed when I download a PDF file of a certain number of pages and then discover that if the type were a normal size it would be half as many pages. This study is done in a readable size with spaces provided for you to fill in comments and definitions. There is no wasted space and no superflous padding. You get what you pay for.
"First Peter" can be used as an Individual or Small Group Bible Study
This Bible Study Guide will reveal the answers to these and many other questions:
How does the Holy Spirit work in a Christian's life?
How should a Christian conduct themselves in different situations?
What is all the "suffering" was about?
It will help you to realize for yourself what Peter taught concerning:
Jesus' sacrifice on the cross which both mimics and fulfills the Old Testament law and sacrifices
What Jesus has truly done for us, -- and given to us
How to handle it, when other people say "bad things" about Christians
"God's part," and "my part" in living the Christian life

Testimonial from one of my students: Anonymous 1 said...
I have enjoyed Marcia's bible studies for over a year and was very stimulated by her passion and thorough examination of the Bible text. This energy and extra specific information about the passages was very encouraging and I have since developed a closer walk with Christ through experiencing God's presence in our group study and when I applied principles like "abiding in Christ" to my daily walk. She has a way of getting at the heart of a passage and clearly enjoys teaching and sharing so much that we all opened our hearts a little more to each other and to Christ in each session. It was a very special experience with some very special women and a very special teacher. I don't think Marcia needs to worry about how well known she is. Her material speaks engagingly and lovingly for itself. Truth told needs no arguments to prove its worth because it is inherently valid and helpful.
Doing this Small Group Bible Study is a great way to get a fresh filling of the love of Jesus and a better understanding of what “Christianity” really means. It is believed that Peter was in Rome when He wrote this letter to the churches in what is now called Turkey. So God lead him to include every last detail of what it means to live the Christian life, including wonderful encouragments, indepth explanations of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and everything he could think of, covered in the most succinct way (the scroll was only so long -- he had limited space to say what was on his mind so he had to say it concisely and to the point. He pens no unnecessary words.) And the letter was written to us in this day, also. You will be amazed at how his advice from 2000 years ago, exactly fits our times today.
By looking at the definitions and studying Peter's concepts you will more clearly see, in detail, the view and understanding of one of Jesus' most prominent Apostles: Peter. The goal of the study is simply to grasp what Peter really said, actually meant, and vividly wrote without adding anything to it, or taking anything away. When you understand precisely what it says, the application in your life will come from the Holy Spirit working in your heart.
Everything the teacher needs is already included!
Here is the opportunity and support you have wanted and needed.
You really can do a small group study in your own home with the contents of this study, alone. As the teacher, all you need to do, is:
Pray and ask for the guidance of the Holy Spirit to open your mind and heart to His Word.
Do the study before the class gets together to get familiar with the material.
Before the class begins: Pray, again, and ask the Holy Spirit to do the teaching for you.
When your group gets together, just walk through the lesson line by line with them.
As you repeat these steps, session after session, you will get more comfortable.
Your students will grow in understanding of God's Word and in His Spirit, just like you will.
You can do this. If a small group Bible study has been your desire, then don't hesitate any longer, because God has put that desire in your heart and led you to this study. Trust the Lord to help you and go for it. Souls are waiting to be saved. Christians are waiting to learn. People you know have been waiting for help in reading and studying God's Word. Don't hesitate any longer, you will have all you need (and more) to accomplish your goal of holding a small group study in your home or office.
Everything the student needs is already included!
This was originally intented to be a weekly small group Bible study and it works very successfully that way. It is also meant for personal Individual Bible study, and you don't really need to be part of a group to get the full benefit of studying God's Word, unless you so desire.
The real learning takes place when the student walks through the study, filling in the blanks, pondering and answering the simple questions. Do not be fooled by the simplicity with which it was composed.
Participating with the lesson will get your mind moving over the scriptures in a deep and thoughtful way and the Holy Spirit will begin speaking to any student who is truly seeking to know the Lord Jesus Christ more intimately. My students and I had exactly that kind of experience from participating with the lessons, week after week (see testimonial from one of my students above).
You willnoteven need a copy of the NKJV to do this study-- every verse is includedin the file (by permission of the publisher). But, maybe you'll learn to love the NKJV and want to get a copy for yourself -- it is an accurate and excellent translation.
You also willnotneed a separate dictionary or concordance (unless you have words of your own that you want to look up) becauseevery definition required to do the lesson is listed at the end of each lesson. And that also goes for the definitions which were taken from Strong's Concordance which explain the original Greek and Hebrew meanings.
This study is complete in itself, so you can print out copies and give them awayand it will be like giving them their own copy of the Book of First Peter from the Bible along with a commentary and definitions to make it easy to understand. This is a great evangelism gift idea!
If English is your second language, it will actually help you understand the words and deepen your understanding of both English and the Word of God. A couple of my students were not native English speakers and they shared that the approach I used really helped them to understand English better. If it helped them, it surely will help any native English speaker, too!
Originally written over the course of a year, for "Sweet Fellowship," a small group Bible study of Calvary Chapel Stone Mountain, GA, which is part of the Women's Bible Study Ministry.
My desire is to share with other interested persons what the Lord gave me as I read, questioned, studied and searched for understanding of what Peter wrote. I looked up the words and found the definitions. I consulted with Commentaries for understanding and I prayed for guidance from the Holy Spirit. I wrote the lessons and taught my classes and others were enlightened, as I was enlightened. Even as I have gone back through it, preparing the pages and editing a few places for posting here, I have been refreshed all over again.
Please feel free to print as many copies as you needfor your women's bible studies small group, or to share with a friend. Please do not change anything in the PDF file as it is copyrighted material. Please do not distribute the PDF file. If someone else would like a copy of the file, please direct them here (www.bestluggagecarts.com) to purchase an inexpensive copy of the file. Thank you for your kindness.
I thank God for all He has done for me, and all He will do for you as you read and study His word and seek Him.
I pray that the Holy Spirit will reveal to you what He wants you to know about Jesus Christ and the Christian life. I pray that you will come to know the Lord Jesus Christ in a more personal way. I pray that you will soon understand what it means to "abide in the Vine" who nurtures you and your spiritual growth and that you will also come to a full realization that you are kept by the power of Almighty God, Himself, and do not need to worry for anything. You are in His Hands!
May you be refreshed and renewed by His Holy Spirit and your study of His Word.
For His glory, and in His name, may you be blessed,
